Kris Jerome Browning, 61, of Vicco, died Saturday, September 26, 2020 at UT Medical Center, Knoxville, Tenn.

He was born in Hazard, July 17, 1959, the son of the late William Albert Browning and the late Gladys Mae Browning. He was a lifetime Member of the Vicco Church of God and was a handyman, craftsman, great husband, father and grandfather and had a great love for people. He loved to help with community service, loved to grill and working on old cars.

He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Browning of Vicco; three sons, Kristopher Browning (Chris Baker) of Vicco, Dwayne Kilburn of Pikeville, Jimmy Browning of Bonnyman; two daughters, Rebecca Browning of Vicco, Sharon Halcomb (Scott) of Vicco; two brothers, William Ronald Browning of Nashville, Tenn., Dr. Anthony Scott Browning (Dr. Sandra) of Vicco; sister, Goldie Vigneri (Tom) of Harrodsburg; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild on the way; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, at Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Mike Smith, Nathan Crump, Merill David Collins and Buddy Turner officiating. Burial followed in the Riverside Cemetery, Hazard. Arrangements were under the direction of Engle-Bowling Funeral Home of Hazard.

Ella Snow Holbrook, 5, of Hazard, died Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Wells Hospice Care Center.

She was born in Lexington, August 10, 2015, the daughter of Carl and Kimberly Holbrook of Hazard.

 She was preceded in death by one brother, Easton Holbrook; paternal grandfather, Clyde Holbrook; maternal grandfather, Timothy Miller; special aunt, Rachel Collins.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by one brother, Carlson Holbrook; paternal grandmother, Debra Holbrook of Hazard; maternal grandmother, Karen Duran of GA; uncles, Jeffrey Spencer of GA, Hager Holbrook (Amy) of Ind., Michael Holbrook (Ashley) of Ind.; special cousin, Kristi “Titi” Collins of Prestonsburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitations were held from 12 p.m. till 2 p.m. Saturday, September 26 at Engle-Bowling Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Walters Family Cemetery, Rousseau. Arrangements were under the direction of Engle-Bowling Funeral Home of Hazard.

Carol Ailene Neace Howard, 48, of Hazard, died Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at her residence.

She was born May 30, 1972, the daughter of Anita and Bill Gambill and father Don Neace. She worked as a customer service representative for Apple. She was a member of Maple Street Church of God.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Paul Howard; two daughters, Hannah Keenan, Chelsea Howard; one son, Jacob Howard; one sister, Brittany Neace; one brother, Jwayne Neace (Ginger); one grandchild, Tucker Howard; five nephews, Coby Baker, Caleb Neace, Colby Neace, Kyler Baker and Daegan Neace; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 27 at Maggard’s Mtn. View Chapel with Bill Gambill officiating. Burial followed in the Neace Family Cemetery, Sixteen Mile Creek. Arrangements were the direction of Maggard’s Mtn. View Chapel of Hazard.

He was born in Hazard, April 11, 1987, the son of William Riley Maggard and LouAnn Cousins Maggard.  He loved the outdoors and especially his children.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Davey and Patricia Cousins; paternal grandparents, Burchel and Ruth Maggard; niece, Abbigail Eldridge.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two daughters, Addyson Ryleigh Maggard of Hazard, Olivia Zelle Velasquez of Hazard; sister, Amanda Eldridge (Eddie) of Viper; special mentor, Dale Hanlon; and a host of other relatives and special friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ann Trent (James) of Hindman, Teresa Marie North (Michael) of Hazard; three sons, Taylor Spencer Jr. (Alta Standafer) of Hazard, Thomas Wayne Spencer (Tanya) of Pikeville, David Allen Spencer of Hazard; three sisters, Joyce Smith, Margaret Wooton, Sharon Hayes, all of Hazard; two brothers, Vernon Huff, James Huff, both of Louisville; special niece, Robbyn Campbell  of Hazard; 19 grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services were held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, at Happy Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Rodney Smith officiating. Burial followed in the Carrs Fork Cemetery, Knott Co. Arrangements were under the direction of Maggard Brothers Funeral Home of Hazard.

She was born May 04, 1931, the daughter of the late Andy Melton and the late Doray Browning. She was retired from the Hazard Nursing Home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Palmer Stidham; and a host of siblings.

She is survived by two sons, John Paul Stidham (Visa) of Yerkes, Gregory Stidham of OH; one step daughter, Gertie Eachus of OH; four grandchildren, David Stidham (Tonya), Bryan Stidham (Samantha), Mindy Stidham (Roland) Aaron Stidham; seven great grandchildren, Kyle, Garrett, Kara, Lucas, Elisha, Micah and Cannan; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 28, at Maggard’s Mtn. View Chapel with Roland Stidham officiating. Burial followed in the Kilburn Cemetery, Avawam. Arrangements were under the direction of Maggard’s Mtn. View Chapel of Hazard.
