Morris concludes freshman season with Railsplitters

HARROGATE, Tenn. - Hazard High School graduate Devin Morris concluded his freshman season with the Lincoln Memorial University baseball team in the spring.

Making a solid first impression as a freshman, Morris led the Railsplitters’ pitching staff in a key category.

Morris, a right-handed pitcher/third baseman, made 22 pitching appearances for the Railsplitters during the 2019 college baseball season. The former Bulldog led Lincoln Memorial in saves. Morris registered a team-high seven saves for the Railsplitters. The Hazard High School product compiled a 1-4 record and a 4.93 ERA. Morris notched 32 strikeouts in 38.1 innings.

Morris is expected to take on a larger role for the Lincoln Memorial pitching staff in the 2020 season.

Lincoln Memorial ended the 2019 baseball season 34-19. The Railsplitters complete in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC), along with Anderson, Carson-Newman, Catawba, Coker, Lenoir-Rhyne, Mars Hill, Newberry, Queens, Tusculum and Wingate.
