The Perry Central Commodores will not only be getting a new head coach for this season, but it will be the first starting season for quarterback Cameron Brown.
Brown is a junior at Perry Central and said he is excited for the upcoming season.
“I’m excited for it. I feel like we will do alright,” said Brown. “We think we could go in and win it all for the first time in history.”
Brown said it was very helpful to have worked this offseason with coach Ovie Canady. Canady takes over head coaching duties for Tom Larkey. Canady was the defensive coordinator prior to being named head coach.
“We like him a lot and he knows how we do everything,” said Brown.
Brown will look to gain experience leading his team throughout the season.
Perry Central will open the season at home against McCreary Central Friday, August 17 at 7:30 p.m.
